Board News – Summer 2015

Pastor Charles Van Ausdall, minister of the First Congregational Church, Great Barrington, served 9 years on the Board of Construct. He was celebrated at Construct’s Annual Meeting for his dedication to the mission of Construct. A folding Adirondack chair was presented on his behalf with much appreciation for his service. The chair is placed on the front porch at the transitional residence and main offices, and carries his Construct name badge in his honor.

Also celebrated and thanked for her 3 years as a Board member, Reverend Anne Ryder, rector of Christ Episcopal and Trinity Lutheran Churches, was presented with a flowering plant. She plans to continue helping Construct in many other ways, not the least of which will be to put together the End Point of the WALK on Sunday, October 18th.

Returning to the Board this year are two former Board members, Mark Rosengren of Great Barrington and Elaine Silberstein of Alford. Joining the Board for the first time are Father Bruce Teague, who serves Our Lady of the Valley in Sheffield, Reverend Janet Zimmerman, rector of Grace Community Church in Great Barrington, and Tony Chojnowski, owner of Casablanca and 4 other retail stores in Lenox and Great Barrington.

While it is always sad to say good-bye to those going off the Board, it is exciting to welcome our new members and discover what wonderful gifts of experience and expertise they bring to our work.

Officers are Elizabeth Rosenberg, President and Chair of the Board; Mark Rosengren, Vice President, John Katz, Treasurer; and Marcia Lawrence Soltes; Secretary. Our thanks to outgoing President, Thomas Berkel, and Vice President, Peter Cherneff for their three years of service as officers.
