Gracious Living Day

Each Spring a  strong and willing group of Berkshire School students generously gives nearly a day of hard labor, greening up one of Construct’s properties.

This year, they came to 41 Mahaiwe Street where they were scheduled to do some painting to finish up our new addition, Priscilla’s Room, a fun project for teens.

It was, however, too cold to paint outdoors so Plan B was put in place: a major clean up of a dank and disorganized cellar and yard work. No task was too dirty or tedious for these energetic young people. Meanwhile, back on campus, a small crew was cooking a full meal for both the men’s and the women’s house: baked ziti, tossed green salad, fresh bread and an array of confetti cupcakes with sprinkles and deep dark chocolate brownies. This brought many smiles to the faces of our homeless men and women in residence.

Our sincere thanks to both crews for their hard work and generous spirits!
